MISSION – Todd County saw 41 youg men attend their first basketball practice on Monday, Nov. 28. The Falcons open their season on Friday at Valentine and seeded eighth in this year's 35th LNI, they play St. Francis in the nighcap on Wednesday at 8:30pm.

“Last year, we knew we didn't have many players with varsity experience so we knew we'd take our lumps,” said head coach Chuck Wilson who is starting his second year as head boys coach, “we'll be a lot better this year, we have some experience, we had three students transfer from St. Francis, we'll be 10 deep and we'll be a quick and much faster team this year.”

This year's Falcon team includes seniors 6'2” Austin Brave, 6'0” Austin Prue, 5'8” Michael Boltz, 6'1” Doug Stenberg, 5'9” Clyde Colombe, 5'10” TJ Whirlwind Soldier, 5'9” Isaiah Snead and 6'3” Caleb Larson; juniors 6'1” Kellan Herman, 5'10” Keenan Weddell and 6'2” Hehaka Numpa; sophomore Sean Stinson and freshman 6'0” Joe Clairmont and 6'4” Matthew Donham.

“Our goal is to play hard each and every game,” said Wilson who is also the school's athletic director, “we've had good practices, they're working hard, we play Valentine Friday to open the season, they've played two games already so we're at a disadvantage but we're looking to develop in these first games and in LNI so we're ready for districts and regions, our goal is to get to the state tournament.”
